Welcome to the DACMA competence center – the forefront of carbon removal
Opening in autumn 2025 at the Sustainable Energy Hub in Hamburg, Germany

Visit DACMA competence center, where visionary engineering meets global impact.
The DACMA Competence Center is the research and development facility of DACMA GmbH, located at the port of Hamburg, Germany. Scheduled to open in autumn 2025, the center will serve as a dedicated hub for the development, construction and on-site deployment of modular Direct Air Capture (DAC) systems for international markets.
The DAC system in operation at the site is powered by solar and efuels and operates in a climate-neutral manner, demonstrating DACMA’s commitment to sustainable and scalable carbon removal solutions.
With its location at one of Europe’s key industrial hubs, the DACMA Competence Center serves as a platform for technological innovation, pilot deployment and international collaboration in the growing field of direct air capture systems.
PEGASUS – a lighthouse project for Hamburg
The Competence Center’s first major project is PEGASUS, a joint initiative between DACMA GmbH, Lother GmbH and TUHH Hamburg University of Technology. This collaboration brings together expertise from engineering, science and industrial operations to accelerate the commercialization and integration of DAC technologies within existing port infrastructure.

„With Direct Air Capture, we can extract large quantities of green raw materials for synthetic fuels and at the same time permanently remove CO2 from the cycle. With PEGASUS, we will strengthen our DAC technologies developed and built in Hamburg in international competition.“
